Bower Hill Community Church Beyond Belief Day Camp
This year’s theme is based on Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” This changes Everything! Campers will experience small group activities, crafts, games, and hands-on mission activities. The full-day camp children may also attend a field trip to Crestfield Camp and Retreat Center in Slippery Rock, PA.
We offer two distinct camps.
- Day Camp is for youth who have completed 1st-5th grades.
- Junior Day Camp is for potty-trained children who have completed some pre-school up to completed kindergarten.
The Day Camp Experience
Campers will meet on-site at Bower Hill Church to experience small group activities, games, and hands-on mission activities.
All kids are together for a short daily camp kick-off, and then kids are divided into small groups by camp (Jr. Day Camp and Day Camp). Small groups remain constant for the week allowing kids to build relationships with each other.
Jr. Day Camp
Jr. Day Campers participate daily in planned crafts, story, playtime, games, and music led by church staff and approved adult volunteers.
A mid-morning snack is provided in the 9:30am-12pm schedule.
Day Campers participate in planned activities, crafts, lessons, and games specifically geared toward the age group and led by professional Crestfield Camp staff.
A daily snack is provided, but kids must brown-bag their lunch on three days (M-W); lunch is provided on the other two days.
Kids have the unique experience to visit Crestfield Camp in Slippery Rock, one hour north of Pittsburgh, on the Thursday of camp week.
Transportation is provided to and from camp for all campers and chaperones.
During the trip, day campers enjoy the vast outdoor activities available on Crestfield’s beautiful 208 acres. Lunch in the camp’s cafeteria is included. This is the perfect day to unplug, play, and try out new activities as a group like swimming, canoeing, archery, ropes courses, nature hikes, and even an indoor climbing wall. Specific details about activities planned during the trip to Crestfield are provided at the beginning of day camp.
The week comes to a close with a campfire lunch sponsored by Bower Hill Community Church on Friday.
Camp is limited to 50 campers. Spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
