Adult Education Opportunities

The theme Discover Connect Serve is our focus for Bower Hill’s Educational Program year that begins Sunday, Sept 10, 2017.  There are several offerings for adults and the entire family following the worship service.  All options are designed to be stand-alone, so you can come when you are able without missing something!  Classes take place Sunday mornings after worship from 10:45 am-11:45 am.  Childcare and/or programming is provided for children and youth up to and including high school.

Meeting in room 206, is a study that will be led by our Parish Associate, Fred Leasure.  This class will cover various short-term studies as chosen by the leader and participants.  Beginning September 10th, the first seven-week class will focus on the theme of God’s intervention into crisis.  Beginning with the Exodus it will continue through the New Testament passages and conclude with a discussion of today’s unrest.

Adult Education meets in room 204, just off of Fellowship Hall, and offers something new each week focused on contemporary society and theology.  Led by various people, including guest speakers focused on current events, join in for DVD presentations on Faith and Science and thoughtful discussion.  Once a month, the group is led by Pastor Brian and combines with the confirmation class for a discussion of the lectionary Bible passage.

Room 202, the room next to the Friendship Room, has been rearranged and refreshed.  It is now a great space to sit down and converse with people in a more comfortable setting after coffee hour.  Whether you take advantage of second hour childcare to catch up with a fellow parent, or just relax while you wait for your youth during second hour programming, this is a dedicated space to cultivate fellowship and conversation on Sunday mornings.
