Re-Opening Plans For Resuming in Person Activities
New Children’s Worship Programming
Kicks Off September 13
Our Children’s Programs for the new school year, beginning September 13, will be offered in a virtual format for the fall, and are slightly different for each age group. New curriculum has been chosen to ease our transition to the online format.
Children’s Worship (Preschool through Second Grade)
Weekly children’s worship stories using the Godly Play format will be pre-recorded and posted on the church website. Materials have been prepared for each family that contain everything needed for families to complete the crafts and activities together for each week. These bags will be delivered so that all families have the supplies needed for Children’s Worship prior to Kickoff Sunday.
Tweens (3rd and 4th Graders)
Our kickoff Zoom meeting for 3rd and 4th graders will be on Sunday, September 13, at 3:00 p.m. Please see the email from Amy for the Zoom link and full details.
Pre-Teens (5th through 8th Graders)
Our kickoff Zoom meeting for 5th – 8th graders will be on Sunday, September 13, at 4:00 p.m. Please see the email from Amy for the Zoom link and full details.
YOUTH MEETUP OPPORTUNITIES
Confirmation Class Resumes
Pastor Brian will resume last year’s confirmation class on Sunday, September 13. The class will meet in person on the church grounds in the shade of a tree immediately following worship. We will decide on the best time to meet weekly at that first meeting. We can finish the remaining material and schedule a Confirmation Sunday before the weather gets too cold to meet outside.
Senior High Youth Events
Based on feedback, the youth emphasized the need for IN-PERSON meetings instead of meeting over Zoom. To that end, we have planned outdoor, socially-distanced in-person events for the fall. Please note that all events will be outdoors.
Sunday, September 20, 11:00 a.m. -- Hike & brown-bag lunch. We will meet after confirmation to hike Boyce Mayview Park. Bring a brown bag lunch for yourself.
Saturday, October 3, 2:00 p.m. -- Bike ride on the Montour trail and ice cream. We will meet at the Valley Brook Road and Route 19 trailhead. Bring money for ice cream at a stop along the way.
Sunday, October 25, 1:00 p.m. -- Simmons Farms fall festival @ $12 per person. We will meet at Simmons Farms and spend a few hours there.
