Strangers in the Land: A Six-Week Devotional Guide on Immigration, the Church, and the Bible
May 31 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
The IRU (Immigration, Refugee, Undocumented Persons) Discovery Group is inviting all members and friends of Bower Hill to participate in a study called Strangers in the Land: A Six-Week Devotional Guide on Immigration, the Church, and the Bible. This is a six-week study that includes daily readings and weekly group discussions.
Here’s what you need to know:
Sessions will be held on six consecutive Sundays from 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. beginning on Sunday, May 3 — the first session will be led by Pastor Brian Snyder.
Until in-person activities resume at Bower Hill, we will use Zoom for our discussions (if in-person activities resume before the six weeks are up, we will assess how to proceed).
Because we will be using Zoom, it will be necessary to contact Linda James at email@example.com, so that you receive the email invitations to the sessions.
The best way to participate in this study is to purchase the study guide and complete the daily readings in preparation for the Sunday discussion. The guide is only available as an e-book at the following link – https://sojo.net/node/216822. The cost is $5.99. If you don’t already have an App for reading e-books, you will need to download the free Kindle App.
Don’t let unfamiliarity with technology stop you from participating in the study. If you have any issues with downloading the Kindle App or purchasing the study guide, contact Theresa Child at firstname.lastname@example.org. In addition, on the day of the first Zoom meeting, all the members of the IRU team will be signing on early (at 10:45 a.m.) to help get everyone into the Zoom meeting and make sure that everyone can see and hear the discussion.
We hope to “see” you on Zoom!
