Amy and Craig Grella

Craig and I met at Lehigh at the end of our senior year before graduating with civil engineering degrees. I worked in manufacturing management for 15 years before deciding to be a stay-at-home mom when we moved to Pittsburgh. I began working for Bower Hill about one and a half years ago, which gives a nice balance to my SAHM status. In Pittsburgh, Craig created a nonprofit called OrgSpring which helps other nonprofits understand how to better use technology to accomplish their missions. He is politically active – helping local, state, and presidential candidates for office and advocacy groups further their causes. This past November, Craig was elected Commissioner in Mt. Leba-non’s 4th Ward – he’ll be sworn-in in January 2018 for a four-year term.
We have two daughters. Autumn is a first grader at Howe Elementary and Noelle is in a toddler class at Mt. Lebanon Montessori. In many ways, they are the same, and in many more, they are complete opposites. Funny how that hap-pens.
By the time we moved back to Pittsburgh, my sister Ruth Robbins and her family were already members at Bower Hill. We started coming because of the Robbins, and then we loved it for ourselves and our family and we never left.
Away from work and church, I love anything outdoors – hiking, camping, the beach and running. I also love to read and spend time with children and youth – I’m a kid at heart! Craig loves technology, computers, code, guitars, mo-torcycles and watching the Yankees beat the Red Sox.
We always seem to be busy. Autumn is involved with swimming, gymnastics and Daisy Scouts. Noelle also swims and takes music classes. Between Amy’s work with the church youth and children, and Craig’s involvement in local politics, we juggle a lot! But we do try to spend some quality time together. Often you will find us doing dance par-ties in the living room after dinner, or reading books together at night as we put the kids to bed.
