Adult Education Recap and Special Summer Class

Adult Education

This past year was an inspiring and challenging year in BHCC’s Adult Education program. We explored topics of spirituality with Pastor Snyder, continued with the thoughtful video series Living the Question, added a new series: The History of Christianity, were blessed with enlightening classes on a wide variety of social and spiritual topics from members of our congregation, and looked beyond the walls of our church to hear from speakers across the spectrum on both sides of some challenging issues we face as responsible citizens and people of faith. Many thanks to all who led classes and attended.

Our Adult Education takes a summer “vacation” from classes but not planning. (Notice the exception with a new summer Bible study, below.)

We are already planning for the 2016-2017 “season.” If you have a topic which you would like to have addressed in Adult Education, please feel free to let us know, either in person or via email: sdboisvert@verizon.net.  We look forward to kicking classes off on September 11.  Elder Steve Boisvert is the Chair of Adult Education.

Summer Adult Education Class

Have you ever wished that Adult Education didn’t go away in the summer?  This year it won’t! Throughout the summer, we will have a lectionary-based Bible study during the adult education time, just after coffee hour.  This discussion group will be an in-depth look at the Bible readings that were used earlier the same day in worship.  The Bible study will take place in the Friendship Room, beginning June 5, and it will be co-led by the Rev. Fred Leasure, the newest member of our Company of Pastors, and Peter Smith, the religion writer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
