Director of CE & Youth Programs – June 2018

Registration is now open for Jr. Day Camp and Day Camp, July 23-27

See the registration form insert in this newsletter for complete details on the week.  Registration for both Junior Day Camp and Day Camp is available online through our website.  Simply go to:  www.bowerhillchurch.org/daycamp/  to complete registration and pay online!

If you would like to register using a check instead, you may complete the enclosed paper copy of the registration form (copies are located on the bulletin board by the Friendship Room) with your check (payable to BHCC) and deliver it to the church office.  Especially for Day Camp, where our space is limited to only 50 campers, please be sure to register early!

This year’s Jr. Day Camp theme is “Beyond Belief – The Universe of God”.  We are excited

for the wonderful, exciting week being planned for the children.  Look for the giving tree of

supplies needed for Jr. Day Camp outside of the Friendship Room.  Please consider

taking a leaf (or two) to donate.  All supplies and monetary donations need to be delivered to

the church by Sunday, July 8.  Thank you in advance for your support!

Now hiring – Nursery

With Meghan Boulden’s departure, we are seeking an adult (must be 18 yrs. or older) to work Sunday mornings in the nursery.  We have found that recommendations work best.  This position could be a fit for a mom, since their child(ren) are able to come with them, or even someone who  might want to supplement their income.  If you know of anyone who may be interested, please contact Amy at am@bhccml.com or the church office.

Thank you!

Summer Sunday School and Nursery Coverage

Beginning Sunday, May 27, children from preschool through completed third grade will be combined for summer fun during the worship service.  Children should remain in worship until the Children’s Sermon.  Then they will be escorted to room 110 (downstairs lounge) for games, crafts, and to enjoy the playground.  Parents should pick up their children from room 110 following worship.

Completed 4th grade and above are invited to stay in worship with their parents.  Children’s Bulletins are available in the Narthex.  Childcare for infants and toddlers will be available in the nursery during worship as usual.

Youth Group Summer – Save the Date

Youth in grades 6 and up are encouraged to participate in these summer activities:

July 2-6—Mission Work Trip at the Pittsburgh Project

July 23-27—Jr. Day Camp week – from 9:30am to noon daily.  Youth in grades 6 and up are needed to help lead Jr. Day Camp for our preschool and kindergarten children.

August 18—overnight lock-in at the church!

Youth Group Summer Lock-in – Save the Date

Be sure to save the date for a lock-in at church on Saturday, August 18.  Youth in grades six and up are encouraged to participate.  Watch for details in the coming months, but we wanted to make sure to get this in your family calendar.  Feeling young at heart?  Please contact Amy or the church office if you are interested in helping to chaperone this event!
