Cherub choir for youngsters in preschool through 2nd grade will rehearse in the sanctuary from 10:45-11:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 7. They will sing in Palm Sunday worship on April 14.
Bower Hill is blessed to join up with the Shalom Singers, a South Hills Jewish choir, to form the Sacred Bridge Choir. The Sacred Bridge Choir will perform at the SHIM Holocaust Memorial on Sunday, April 14, from 3:00-4:30 p.m., at Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park. All are invited to rehearse and perform with us under the co-direction of Anne Smith and Cantor Rena Shapiro. Chancel choir membership (although we would love to have you!) is not required to participate. Join us as we come together in community with our Jewish friends to sing music of remembrance and unity.
SHIM is holding its 40th Annual Holocaust Observance event, which also takes place at Christ United Methodist Church, beginning at 2:00 p.m. on April 14. The event is titled “Be Proud of Your Name”. Each year, this event is held in an effort to commemorate the lives lost and also to educate, morally and historically, in hopes of avoiding any repetition of such a horrific tragedy.
