On January 5th, a group of 4 members of Bower Hill Community hiked the trails in Schenley Park. We lucked out in that the rain quit right before we left and we had full sun. The temperature for the hike started out in the 30s and was in the low 40s when we ended. We started at the Anderson Playground and hiked the Bridle Trail. We crossed over the Panther Hollow Rd and walked the Steve Falcon Trail to Phipps Conservatory. Next, we went down the steps, viewed one of the unique bridges in the hollow and hiked around Panther Hollow Lake. We went up the Hollow Run Trail to the Lower Panther Hollow trail and returned to the car via the Upper Panther Hollow Trail. We probably covered about 5 miles in 2 hours. Without leaves on the trees, we were able to see lots of different perspectives of the park and Oakland.
