Last year, we started the Get Outdoors group. Its purpose was and is to have a monthly activity to give members a excuse to get outdoors. We have been keeping our hikes to two hours, which normally allows us to get back to the church around noon. We have hiked trails in Emerald View Park (Mt. Washington), Southside Steps, Wingfield Pines. Schenley Park, Boyce Mayview Park and a section of the Montour Trail. The group has varied from 2 to 8 people with decent weather that has included some cold and snow.
As the weather breaks, please feel free to join us. Normally, we try to hike the first Saturday of the month. But due to the Flea Market this month, Produce to People, Easter and other activities, there is no time that will work. So we will not be hiking in April. A church wide email will be sent the week of the May hike with more details.
In May, we will probably walk some trails in Frick Park. With the leaves on the trees, you will be amazed how a park in the middle of the city can make you feel like you are out in the country.
