~ Let Us Choose Love ~ “You will not fear…the pestilence that walks in darkness.” ~Psalm 91:5-6
PRAYER FOR A PANDEMIC
~Anonymous
May we who are merely inconvenienced remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors remember the most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home
remember those who must choose between their health or making their rent.
May we who have to cancel our trips
remember those who have no safe place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money
remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
remember those who have no home.
As fear grips our country,
let us choose love.
During this time when we cannot physically
wrap our arms around each other,
let us find ways to be the loving embrace
of God to our neighbors.
Amen.
“Let us choose love,” my friends, always love. Love over fear. Love over worry. Love over grasping. At least through the end of April, it will probably remain impossible to meet in person in our building. We will let you know otherwise if that information changes. But your church is still with you in these times! You can find us online every Sunday for our normally scheduled services and online daily for services of morning prayer. Please contact me as always with any needs or concerns: 814-573-5619. Also, funds have been made available specifically for members and attendees of our church who find themselves in need at this time. Please, please, please do not be too proud to ask! Contact me by text, email, or phone call if this is you.
Notice the new format for this newsletter. It is the PANDEMIC edition. As always, we are grateful for your ongoing support.
In Christ’s Peace,
~Brian
