Pittsburgh Threshold Choirs host Mid-Atlantic Gathering of Voices

Pittsburgh, PA: Three local Threshold Choir chapters come together to host a weekend Gathering of Voices on October 6-8, 2017 at Bower Hill Community Church, located at 70 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh. Cindy Harris and Mary Paine lead Pittsburgh’s active Threshold Choir chapters who regularly sing to patients in area hospice care centers including Lawrenceville’s Family Hospice, Shadyside Heartland Hospice, and Family Hospice in the South Hills. They will be joined by Marti Mariette, a CA songwriter and bedside expert extraordinaire. Members joining together for the gathering will be featured on the Saturday Light Brigade Radio program with Larry Berger on Saturday, September 23 from 11:05-12 to sing and speak about Threshold singing. Visit https://slbradio.org/listen to find out where to listen in your area or listen live online.

This weekend gathering in the South Hills of Pittsburgh is an invitational event for those who sing in Threshold Choir chapters throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Led by local chapter directors and song leaders in the Threshold community, regional gatherings like this one are scheduled throughout the year in cities across the nation for Threshold singers to come together to learn new songs and techniques and share their bedside experiences of singing to families and Hospice patients.

As part of the October weekend event, an open Community Sing will be held at Bower Hill Community Church from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6. 2017 . The event is open to members of all local faith communities, hospice families and volunteers, interested singers as well as families and friends of Threshold Singers. Bower Hill Community Church is located at 70 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, 15243. Reception to follow. Registration or prior experience is not required.
