Sandi’s Garden is off to a great start. Many thanks to those who donated plants and seeds. We have planted 162 hot and sweet pepper plants, bush and pole beans, and some basil plants. Next will be zucchini and winter squash in our straw bales.
You don’t have to be a master gardener to help make this the most successful year yet for Sandi’s Garden. Right now we need volunteers to sign up for a week of watering. A few hours a week will make a world of difference. The schedule for volunteers is on the first bulletin board on the way from the sanctuary to Fellowship Hall. Directions for watering are below the signup sheet. Please volunteer to sign up for a week and take a watering sheet with you. Weeds are always an issue. No previous gardening experience is needed. If a plant isn’t in the raised beds or on the straw bales, it’s a weed! Simply pull the weeds you might see and place them in the compost bin next to our rain barrel. Either activity is an opportunity to be a valuable part of a mission project that shares our blessings with clients who struggle to provide their families with healthy meals in this land of plenty. Once again, many thanks!!!
