75th Anniversary Celebration Planning
It’s time to think “75th Anniversary”

The Bower Hill Community Church 75th anniversary celebrations will begin next year and, though it may seem a bit early to start our planning, it’s NOT. There is MUCH to do and you can HELP. We are looking for your thoughts, creativity and that good old BHCC volunteer spirit.

This is your chance to share just a little or a lot of your talents and ideas for our 75th anniversary celebration. You have the freedom to specifically select what committee(s) might suit you the best for all of us to have a wildly successful celebration.
Here are the groups you may be interested in joining.

· The Worship Committee will work on special Sunday services and the music involved throughout the next year.

· The Events Committee will assist with several fellowship events throughout our Anniversary year. We’ll start with an exciting kick-off Sunday in September 2025 commemorating our first service on September 10, 1950, and do a similar event in February 2026 commemorating our chartering on February 4, 1951. And remember the old Strawberry Festivals? That will be back and will be a part of a larger celebration including a formal dinner in the Spring of 2026.

· The Mission Committee will be charged with planning a large project in which we can get the COMMUNITY involved. Remember our name is Bower Hill COMMUNITY Church.

· The Communication Committee will be involved in a range of areas like sharing our history and our excitement about this celebration to our neighboring communities and former members through various forms of media. We want everyone to know who we are, what got us here and our plans for the future.

· The Archives Committee is your place if you like doing research. This group will be combing through our church’s past 75 years and, in turn, finding ways to educate all of us about how fortunate we are to have had people who dedicated their time to growing our church.
· The Youth Committee will work on exciting ways to teach our history by including the children of all ages in our projects and events.

· The Former Members Committee will work on tracking down finding as many former members (and pastors) as possible to join us in our celebrations.

We are hoping for a lot of member involvement in our planning. If you cannot or prefer not to be on a committee, you can help us in other ways. You just may have some valuable information about our history and maybe some old church-related photos buried in your attic or basement. It’s worth a look! And, we would guess that you have some really great stories about our past that you can share.
So join in and contribute a little or a lot. Please remember that our door is always open for suggestions and ideas. All are WELCOME!
If you’re interested in helping on any of these committees you can use the link below, visit the BHCC website, or our table in the Narthex following worship for the next few weeks.
