Get Outdoors – October 4 – White Oak Park - Revisited

Last month, we could not hike the selected trail due to a 5K race being held in that area. Instead, we

hiked 3 smaller trails in another area of the park. So this month, we will hike the trail we intended to do in September. White Oak Park is located near McKeesport, The park sits on 810 acres and offers a wealth of amenities including a multi-purpose athletic field, shelters, a wedding garden, playgrounds, a dog park, bocce courts, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and trails for walking and hiking. Unique to the park, White Oak Park is home to many unique plant species that exist nowhere else in Pennsylvania. These rare species include trillium, wildflowers, and specific types of ground cover.
