On March 4, 2023, a group of 4 members of Bower Hill Community Church hiked the Butler Freeport trail. After a night and early morning of rain, the weather cleared for the hike. We started at Freeport and hiked about 3 miles out and 3 miles back. The previous rain filled the smaller side streams which flowed into a fast moving Buffalo Creek. In this section, Buffalo Creek parallels the trail. With the leaves off the trees, we saw the remains of what was probably an industrial site that used the railroad and/or creek for transportation. Another great day on western Pennsylvania trails.
