Get Outdoors - Moraine State Park - South Shore - Trails 8/15/2026

On August 15, 2026, a group of 3 members of Bower Hill Community Church hiked some of the trails on the south shore of Moraine State Park. After checking out the boat launch area for Lake Arthur at Bear Run, we drove a short distance to the parking area for the trails. We started on the Hilltop Trail. It was a nice wooded trail with a fair amount of up and downs. Toward the end of the Hilltop trail we veered off onto the Pleasant Valley trail. After crossing the Pleasant Valley Road, we went on the Sunken Garden Trail toward the lake. This took us past some of the facilities on the lake. We continued through a wooded then grassy area, then returned via a short road to the car.
