"Jews of the Somme" Exhibit Opening March 20

"JEWS OF THE SOMME" EXHIBIT AT BOWER HILL, OPENING MARCH 20 AT 10AM:

Bower Hill Church has partnered with the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh to host a display by local historian Dr. David Rosenberg about the Jews in the city of Amiens, France, during the Nazi occupation.

Pastor Snyder says, "It’s haunting amid the resurgence of anti-Semitism in our times to visit this powerful exhibit, which puts faces and names to a persistent issue in society, namely, the fear of the ‘other,’ especially in its anti-Semitic form. The exhibit tells stories that would otherwise go untold, revealing the tragic human cost of hate-mongering."

Please attend the opening of the exhibit in the Friendship Room on Monday, March 20, at 10:00am. Dr. Rosenberg will speak about his work and the people whose lives it illuminates. Pastor Snyder will share some thoughts about how this issue is relevant to our times. Coffee and refreshments will be served. You can also visit the exhibit on a Sunday morning or during weekday office hours (9-3).

"The Jews of the Somme" has been shown at the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, Temple Emanuel, and the University of Picardy in France, among other locations.
