Mission & EJT News - November 2026

This autumn the EJT team was folded into the Mission Committee, which it was always under. There was overlap in our projects, such as the SHIM garden. With the Session beginning work on the budget in November, we thought we’d let you know about how your mission money is used.

We have undesignated funds in the Mission Facilitation Fund, which we use as projects (or urgent needs) come up to us. We also, however, have specific projects we commit to supporting, such as these:

  • Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank

  • Brother’s Brother Foundation - medical supplies for emergencies

  • East Liberty Family Health - long a project supported strongly by the McAnultys

  • Neighborhood Academy- a private school for disadvantaged youth

  • SHIM

  • Casa San Jose

  • Hekima Place

  • Hearts United with Haiti

This year we are adding the Haiti Nursing Foundation, a school for nurses we have supported in the past through Mission Facilitation.

As you can see, we have long supported several organizations, but are always open to adding others. The congregation has always been pleased by our strong support of mission. As a Matthew 25 congregation, we take our responsibility seriously.
