Ponderings from the Parish Associate - November 2025

ree

November is a time of Thanksgiving and harvest. In the modern age we have less and less understanding of what is required to harvest crops. With the advent of freezers, refrigerators and grocery stores, we are not nearly aware of the importance of gathering food in for the winter months. Also, we don’t stop to realize the effort of farmers and their dependence on the weather. By importing foods from other countries and other states, we are seldom without fresh vegetables, meat and dairy products.

In our abundance we must remember that in spite of all our technology, God is the ultimate source of all our blessings. When we gather around the table, we need to give thanks for not just the food, but also the people, the home we live in, the resources that are at our disposal daily. By the act of sharing what we have, we participate in a culture of giving that affirms our love of our Creator and all God’s children.

Happy Thanks Giving
