Scout Sunday

You may have seen Pack 28 and Troop 28 scouts during one of our Scout Sunday programs. So what is Scout Sunday? The Boy Scouts of America designates the Sunday that falls before February 8 (Scouting Anniversary Day) as Scout Sunday, which is the primary date to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting. It is a great way to get to know the scouts that call our church home during the week. 

A Scout is reverent. They are reverent toward God and they are faithful in their religious duties and respect the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion. The BSA Statement of Religious Principle “maintains that no member can grow into the best kind of citizen without recognizing an obligation to God.” If you have a youth ages 6 - 17, we encourage you to learn more about the two programs below. 

Pack 28

Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family. In Scouting, scouts start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life. Troop 28 

Troop 28 is one of the oldest and most active boy-led troops in Mt. Lebanon. Scouting is proven to build leaders, and Troop 28 has produced many young leaders in it over 70 years as a troop. Former Scouts serve on the boards of global corporations, walk the halls of the White House, and have been known to go hiking on the moon occasionally. Life lessons learned in Scouting will help all of its members make good decisions throughout life.
