The Cost of “Fast Fashion” on Our Environment

The phenomenon of "fast fashion" has enormous costs for both the environment and human rights, too high to be sustainable. Buying responsibly can mean that clothing will cost more, but will come with big benefits. A perfect slogan for this issue is, "Buy Less, Buy Better, Use Longer."

 

During this pandemic, many of us are finding that we need fewer clothes. When we go back out into the world, perhaps the clothes we already have will feel new. We also may have unlearned the habit of shopping out of boredom. If we have been using this time to renew and refresh, or to explore new hobbies or pastimes, we can emerge from isolation creativity and commitment to living responsibly in God's world.
