The fall harvest has come to a close for the SHIM Garden in 2024. Overall, it was a very plentiful year thanks to a long Indian Summer and we give thanks for the bounty that came from the garden. This year we donated over 11,200 peppers for a total of 200 pounds and an additional 90 pounds of produce that came from individual’s gardens!!!
These all went to needy families looking for fresh produce and spicy peppers. I can’t tell you how appreciative the folks at SHIM were.
It truly takes a village to tend to the garden all year long. Many thanks to all those who helped with the garden from April through November. Our gardeners included the following:
Glenn Child Betsy Hohlfelder Phil Neusius
Judy Delestienne Jean Miewald Sarah Neusius
Cynthia Gissin Anne Mitchell Doris Olinger
Dick Headley Gordon Mitchell Gavin Salvante
We look forward to resting for the next four months and anticipate another successful planting next Spring.
Alan Hohlfelder
