Christmas Pie Sale

Bower Hill Youth are selling baked goods from The Pie Place in time for Christmas to raise funds for our summer mission trip. There are pies (baked or frozen), cookie trays, cinnamon or pepperoni rolls, or $20 gift cards for future use. Orders can be placed in one of three ways:

3. Stop by the table after worship on Sunday, December 4 or December 11.

Checks should be made out to Bower Hill Community Church. Pies will be available for pickup after church on Sunday, December 18. Thank you for supporting Bower Hill Youth!

“Adventflix” – Family Movie Night Out for Advent

Building off Bower Hill’s “Lent-flix” program from this spring, there is an upcoming public special movie event open to everyone during Advent. The format is different this time around. The movie will be playing at the Phoenix Theatre Chartiers Valley (1025 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA, 15017). Individuals interested in going will need to purchase tickets on their own, see links below. Advanced ticket purchase is recommended to ensure you get a seat.

Children’s Christmas Pageant December 24 at 11:00 a.m.

Bower Hill is excited to prepare for a children's Christmas pageant again this

year, the first time doing so since the pandemic. The pageant will be performed

during the special Children's Christmas Eve service at 11:00 a.m. Kids will use

the time in Sunday school beginning on November 27, to prepare for it. Older

youth will be engaged to work on props. If you would like to help lead this

Plans for Holiday Sundays for Children

December 25 and January 1 fall on Sunday this year. All worship on December 25 will be on-line (previous worship recordings will be posted again), and the church will be closed that day. On January 1, there will be a regular worship service at 9:30 a.m. However, the nursery will be closed, and all kids Pre-K through 5th grade will start in worship, and then head to room 110 after the Time with Children. The annual “Sunday after Christmas” movie and PJ party will instead be held on Sunday, January 8, in room 110.

Youth Group to Host Hot Metal Bridge Meal in January

The youth group will host dinner for patrons at the Hot Metal Bridge in the Southside. The meal prep will be done on Sunday, January 15, at Bower Hill Church. The dinner will be served at Hot Metal on Tuesday, January 17. Be on the lookout for a Sign-Up Genius, in early January.

December Youth Group Meetups

Sunday, December 4 – 10:45 a.m. in Room 105 Senior High youth interested in going on the summer mission trip will meet to decide on where we will travel. This will not be a long meeting- just want to review options and vote.

Sunday, December 4, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. 3rd-8th grade youth group. We will hold our annual Christmas party and introduce the younger kids to a favorite tradition of the older youth, the White Elephant Gift exchange. Bring a wrapped, silly present (no more than $10 in value) with you (one per person who wants to play) and prepare to have fun. Also, please bring a peanut-free snack to share.

Senior High Summer Mission Trip Update

Save the date… July 1-7, 2023 is the date that youth in grades 9-12 will go on our summer mission trip. Youth interested will meet after church on Sunday, December 4, to vote on the trip location. Check your email for details.

Philadelphia Hoops Fund Update

Thanks to your generous donations, Bower Hill Youth have collected enough to cover the purchase of one portable basketball hoop! A check for $600 will be sent. Stay tuned for one additional fundraising event being planned for the spring. Thank you for supporting Bower Hill Youth.
